- Wear gloves and prepare the habanero peppers by chopping finely. Remove seeds to reduce heat if desired.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
- Add the chopped habanero peppers and cook for 1–2 minutes, stirring frequently to release their aroma.
- Add lime juice and chopped cilantro, stir to combine, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately as a topping for tacos, grilled meats, or mix into your favorite salsa or sauce.
Notes
This dish is spicy! Start with fewer habaneros if you're not used to the heat. For a creamier variation, stir in a tablespoon of Greek yogurt or serve with avocado.
