Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Use 80/20 or 85/15 for the best flavor
  • 1 medium Onion, diced Adds sweetness and flavor
  • 8 ounces Mushrooms, sliced Optional, but highly recommended
  • 1 cup Beef Broth For a rich and savory sauce
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Makes it creamy and delicious
  • 2 tablespoons Flour For thickening the sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce Adds a punch of flavor
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika For a bit of warmth

Method

Cooking Steps
  1. Brown the ground beef in a big skillet, breaking it up as you go.
  2. Add diced onions and optional mushrooms, cooking until onions are softened and everything smells amazing.
  3. Sprinkle in the flour and cook for a minute to help thicken the sauce.
  4. Pour in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring everything together.
  5. Allow it to simmer, then turn off the heat and stir in the sour cream carefully to avoid boiling.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and a little paprika at the end before serving.

Notes

Serve over egg noodles, mashed potatoes, or rice. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to three days. If too thick, add more broth or milk to loosen.
